About this directory
Why this directory exists
Finding software isn't particularly difficult. Working out which products are worth considering — and whether they're right for your organisation — is harder.
Most software directories rely heavily on user reviews, popularity rankings and vendor feature lists. These can be useful, but they don't always tell you what a product is really designed to do, how well it supports a particular type of work, or what compromises you might be making.
We built this directory to offer a different starting point for mission-driven organisations in New Zealand and Australia.
We focus on what software actually does, using information from the vendors themselves to check whether products genuinely belong in the categories you're exploring. We aim to make it easier to discover relevant options, including products that might not appear in a typical top-ten list.
The directory doesn't rank products by popularity or claim to know which software is best for your organisation. That depends on your needs, existing systems, ways of working and capacity to implement and maintain a solution.
Our goal is simpler: help you understand what's available, find plausible options and make a better-informed decision about what to investigate next.
